Why MONT Trekking

Attention to every detail, dedicated team, friendly and knowledgeable customer service, and local expertise are our strengths. We believe these are the reasons why most our guests return to the Alps, plan new treks with us, and recommend us to their friends and colleagues.

1. Consistently great reviews from our guests

We are proud of being ranked among the top 10% businesses in TripAdvisor globally for consistently great traveler reviews. We earned the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2019 and were able maintain our 5-star rating in 2020 despite the damage Covid caused to the travel industry worldwide. 2. Committed team and owners

Dedicated and committed team is our major asset. The MONT Trekking’s good reputation was primarily founded on the professionalism of our team. The founders of MONT Trekking, Cecilia Iachelini and Alex Baraev, continue managing the company’s day-to-day operations and have made significant investments in building a great team. MONT Trekking was able to completely preserve the team during the Covid pandemic – it was a founders’ definite decision to supply MONT Trekking with the required financial resources.

3. Punctual and knowledgeable customer service

Our experts help you choose the right itinerary and get prepared for the trip. We are local, we know the regions of our treks, and we are experienced and passionate hikers. You can count on practical advice on many aspects of your travel to the Alps, and you do not need to ask twice. Our standard is to respond within one business day and to never leave any question unanswered.

4. Quality self-guided hut-to-hut trips

Self-guided treks are our major offer but not a byproduct. Our self-guided treks are panned specifically as self-guided treks. We select safe and scenic trails, good mountain huts in great locations and quality base camp hotels. Our guests explore the Alps’ inspiring landscapes with a step-by-step hiking schedule for each day of the trek and with the best available hiking maps that we provide both in paper as well as electronic format including satellite navigation. We make sure your non-hiking luggage is stored at your base camp hotel while you are hiking, or we transport it to the base camp hotel in your destination on the routes going from A to B. Finally, we assist our guests in panning the travel to the base camp locations, provide local timetables and notify of changes in the timetables. You can learn more about our self-guided treks at How We Organize Your Self-Guided Hike.

5. Reliable 24-hour support

Whether you need assistance while in the middle of your hike or you missed your bus on the way from the airport – we will help you find a solution. You can call our 24-hour emergency number +39 0463 636 118 at any time and speak to a MONT Trekking expert that is aware of your itinerary, the logistics and the current weather conditions in the region of your hike.

6. Selected professional alpine guides

Almost all mountain guides in the Alps are self-employed. We rely on long-term collaborations and select a guide individually for each guided trip based on our guests’ preferences. Our guides are local, experienced, certified, and they are good communicators. The absolute majority of our guests returning for a new trip ask us to allocate the same guide they previously hiked with.
