Charming and welcoming, the Alps are Europe's legendary mountain range that gave birth to the sport of alpinism in the 18th century. Also, the Alps gave birth to the profession of mountain guide and became the first destination for mountain tourism.

Hiking hut to hut is a unique experience the Alps can offer. At MONT Trekking, we design guided hut to hut hiking tours which let passionate hikers explore the Alps with local mountain guides. The natural scenery of the Alps varies dramatically as this is an extensive mountain range reaching 1200 km from east to west. A local guide can tell you all about his or her part of the Alps.

In a guided hut to hut hiking tour, you walk accompanied by one of our local mountain guides. We organize private guided tours, i.e. you are not joined by others on your tour. A private guided hike is a good way to bring together family members or friends and enjoy a hiking holiday while having everything organized by us. It is possible to adjust the difficulty of most of our hut-to-hut itineraries and choose a harder or easier hiking schedule.

Our mountain guides are professionals. They are licensed and trained in line with the local regulation. Many are members of the international professional associations such as UIAGM. Enthusiastic and dedicated, our mountain guides share their own knowledge with the guests thus making your hiking tour more informative or even educational. On a guided hiking tour, you can learn interesting facts about the local traditions and culture. Mountain guides study the history of the region and have a lot to tell about it. Finally, only local guides can take you scenic spots most tourists don’t know about.

Your guided hut-to-hut hiking tour is carefully planned by us in advance. On the day you arrive in the base camp location, your guide will come to meet you at your hotel. We will ask you about the time you prefer to meet the guide in advance and indicate it in your trip documents along with the contact details of your guide. In fact, you can contact your guide anytime before the trip. In most base camp locations, we arrange transportation to the trailhead to optimize the itinerary. Hus are booked in advance for you and for your guide. If you indicated any specific dietary requirements in your trip registration form, they will be communicated to the hut managers to be sure you are served the right meals.

On a guided hut-to-hut tour, your guide manages the hiking schedule and adjusts the itinerary if required. When out in the mountains, our guides are supported by our other personnel 24/7. Also, you can call us at any time during your trek and talk to a person aware of your itinerary and hiking schedule.

Our guided hiking tours are designed to let you explore the most beautiful landscapes the Alps have to offer. We live in the Alps, and we love the Alps, and we think hiking in the Alps is a truly magical and unforgettable experience which good mountain guides can make even more special.
