Home/Rhaetian Alps Hiking Tours/Saent Waterfalls
Stelvio National Park is one of the wildest areas in the Alps. It is home to snowy peaks that reach almost 4000 meters, glaciers, countless lakes and streams. On this hike, you will see Stelvio’s most characteristic landscapes including its green meadows, dense forests and rocky highland.
The itinerary starts in the sunny Rabbi valley. While ascending we will stop at the Saent waterfalls to recharge with freshness. The cascade of Saent waterfalls is one of the major attractions in Stelvio. All the way up we will be accompanied by a swift seething stream of Rabbies. In the upper highlands we will see colonies of marmots, listen to their whistle and admire rhododendron brush.
We will make a stop in the mountain inn Rifugio Dorigoni, where we can also have lunch. This inn was inaugurated in a remote 1903. Rifugio Dorigoni is situated on an edge of a vast kettle and is surrounded by the monumental peaks of Careser, Mezzena, Daent and Sternai.
This is a typical level 3 hike for a full day. You need to be in a good physical shape to do this hike because some of the ascents are rather steep.
